Do you want to install a backrest on your gaming chair? If so, you’ve come to the right place! In this blog post, we will show you how to do it. We’ll also provide some tips on how to choose the best backrest for your needs. So, without further ado, let’s get started!
How to Install a Backrest on Gaming Chair: Step by Step Guide
Step 1: Choose the Backrest You Want to Install on Your Gaming Chair
In this step, you have two options. First, you can choose a pre-manufactured backrest that’s been designed specifically for your chair or, second, you can get a universal backrest that fits most chairs.
We highly recommend getting the pre-manufactured backrest if your chair has a specific design. However, if you don’t like the looks of it or find out that it doesn’t fit well after having bought it, you can always go for the universal backrests.
Step 2: Unpack the Backrest
When you receive your backrest, make sure to take it out of its package and examine it. Make sure there are no parts missing or broken. If any parts are damaged, contact the manufacturer as soon as possible.
Sometimes, they will send you a replacement part for free which is great if you’d rather not go through the trouble of returning it and waiting for a new one to arrive.
We must point out that most manufacturers will not do this for free and you will have to pay some bucks (a few dollars or more).
Step 3: Drill It In
After having checked your backrest, you can move on to drilling. If you have a pre-manufactured backrest that came with a drilling template, the process should be simple. Place the template on your chair and drill according to it. Make sure to use a bit of lubricant as some materials can get quite hot when drilled.
When using a universal backrest, follow the same steps as above but this time, just place it on your chair and drill.
Step 4: Put It On!
Now that you’ve drilled the holes in your gaming chair and the backrest has a pre-drilled hole, you can simply put it on. Do so carefully as you don’t want to mess up the installation process now. Make sure to put it on your chair so that the holes align perfectly and then screw in the backrest.
Once you’ve done all of this, you can sit on your gaming chair and enjoy gaming even more than before!
Step 5: Make Sure It’s Safe to Use
Before using the backrest for real, make sure to test it first. Sit on it for a minute or two and make sure that screwing it in did not damage your chair. It also does not hurt to just sit on the backrest without screwing it in.
The reason this is important is that if you were to use the backrest with the screws still loose, you risk ruining your gaming chair. So, just sit on it and make sure everything is fine. If it’s not, unscrew everything and try again.
Step 6: Final Tips for Installing Backrest on Gaming Chair
If you want to get the ultimate comfort when using your new backrest, we recommend that you put a pillow or other soft object between the chair and your back. This will help reduce pain even further since most of it is due to the hardness of the chair.
Also, if possible, try to move your body forward and backward while you’re gaming. This will help maintain a healthy spine by relieving some pressure on it. A healthy spine is very important for long-term health so keep that in mind!
